How We Got Started

Jefferson Internal Medicine is a primary care clinic based in Roanoke VA. It was founded in 1980 by Dr. Lawrence K. Monahan.  We have provided trusted and respectful private medical care for over four decades and are proud to be the providers of choice for three generations.  After the sudden loss of the founder of the practice, Dr. Adel M. Salama assumed ownership and continues to run the practice as Dr. Monahan always did.  Our practice was and still is dedicated to “Patient Centered Care”, a concept that considers the unique needs, culture, values and preferences of our patients in order to provide personalized care.
